Stress-Free Sedation Dentistry in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu – South India.

Have you put off or avoided dental treatment due to anxiety or fear? If so, you are not alone. This common condition, called dental phobia, prevents many people from receiving the dental care they need and results in more serious dental problems the longer the treatment is delayed. Sedation dentistry allows you to have treatment done during one visit in a relaxed and comfortable way, with little or no memory of the procedure. Depending on your concerns and condition, there are several ways to provide you with the level of sedation that’s right for you. Dr. Rajmohan has been providing sedation dentistry to apprehensive patients for nearly 20 years. Our Sedation Team is especially trained to ease the fears of our most anxious patients and ensure that your dental experience is as comfortable as possible. Our team at Thanjai Dental Centre is dedicated to provide excellent oral healthcare to our community. We believe that dental treatment should not be uncomfortable or scary for our guests, and this is why sedation dentistry can be very useful. Many patients feel self-conscious about dental treatment and nervous about visiting the dentist. We offer special care to our anxious patients in the form of intravenous sedation to make their appointments more comfortable and relaxing.

This is a completely safe technique, which will let you snooze through your dental treatment, comfortable and relaxed with little awareness of the procedure. You are not technically asleep, although that is the sensation many patients describe, but will have little or no memory of the treatment, including the common anxiety triggers of the sounds and smells of the dental surgery.

Our team of dentists and nurses are specially trained to deliver this type of sedation, using the most modern equipment to monitor you during the sedation and recovery and they will make sure you are safe and comfortable at all times during your visit.

You remain awake and aware while receiving the sedation, but you will experience a deep sensation of peace and relaxation, while the team work on your teeth.

Don’t let your fear of the dentist stop you from looking after your teeth. You will need somebody to drive you home and stay with you after your treatment.

Sedation for Kids & Teens

For children who are very young, apprehensive, or have extensive treatment needs, conscious sedation may be necessary. We will give your child an Oral Medication or IV Sedation that will help calm them and minimize the anxiety or discomfort associated with dental treatment. Conscious sedation is intended to make your child drowsy, and possibly even fall asleep, but they will remain conscious. The doctor will help determine which medication will be best for your child’s unique treatment needs.

General Anesthesia in dentistry may be recommended for very apprehensive children, children who are extremely uncooperative, or children with special healthcare needs. Your child will be completely asleep and unaware of the dental treatment that is taking place.

While there is some risk associated with general anesthesia, when administered by appropriately trained individuals in an appropriate facility, it is safe and effective. Trained personnel will monitor your child closely to ensure their safety throughout the procedure and manage any complications.
